Much Better!

26june06_002

So, I frogged that sock from the last post and decided to use the Carbon Dating STR in Jaywalkers instead.  This is *perfect*!  I love the way that the colors are falling together, and this is one of my favorite color combinations.  I love the Jaywalker pattern, too!  I just can't gush enough about this pattern and this yarn.  Oh, and thank you all for all of your gushing about the Pomatomus socks.  I've been thinking that if I knit those again with STR, I might omit one pattern repeat on the leg to make a slightly shorter sock with no chance of running out of yarn.  The only potential problem is aligning the pattern when the instep knitting starts, and I'm sure that can be done fairly easily if I'm in a thinking mood.

Speaking of thinking, send some kind thoughts to Elizabeth, whose SIL is headed for Iraq, and go visit Nancy to wish her a happy birthday on Tuesday.

I know it's been a bit of a drive-by post, but it's late.

Oh yeah - soooo much better. Good choice. I love it when the perfect pattern and yarn come together.

Yes, that looks a million times better! But do the Jaywalkers fit?

I've been trying to decide on a pattern to give along with a skein of the STR Carbon Dating, and you have just made my decision SO much easier! They look awesome, thank you so much for sharing!

wow...it really looks awesome in that pattern.

I have the same ? ...Jaywalkers always look really baggy...I have narrow narrow feets...

I never cease to be amazed at how variegated yarns can behave so radically different from pattern to pattern. Will I ever stop being so thoroughly engrossed in knitting?

BTW, I love the tunes in your jukebox. It makes me so happy to know someone else listens to Social Distortion while knitting.

Hi Susan!
That yarn really looks great with that pattern! Nice job.

Darn it! Now I want some.

It really seems like STR was created for Jaywalkers, although when I made my pair I did have pooling issues on the foot portion of each of them.

They look great.

i love the color combination also. i bought that colorway and it's still in a skein. i would have never thought it looked that way. i'm going to have to have a "wind yarn" day!

Love your Jaywalkers. The coloring in the yarn just seems to go with the Jaywalker pattern. Just beautiful!

Yeah, those socks look fantastic!

Susan
